Egmont Group Chair at G20 ACWG/FATF Meeting

The Chair of the Egmont Group, Mrs. Hennie Verbeek-Kusters, was invited to speak during the April 1st, 2021 joint G20 Anti-Corruption Working Group/Financial Action Task Force meeting.

In the meeting’s session on “The case for enhancing BO transparency, challenges and obstacles to transparency,” Mrs. Verbeek-Kusters delivered a presentation on “Financial Intelligence Units and Beneficial Ownership.” In her presentation, Mrs. Verbeek-Kusters discussed the challenges of identifying beneficial data ownership and recommendations for overcoming them. The presentation also featured data compiled from EG member FIUs on their respective uses of beneficial ownership registries.
